On March 24th, 2022, under the U.S.-ASEAN Smart Cities Partnership, the U.S. Commercial Service in Vietnam organized a cybersecurity networking event. 11 U.S. suppliers of cybersecurity hardware, software, and services participated in the event. Participants included privates sector representatives from Dell, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and others. Approximately 15 representatives from local government organizations and large businesses participated in the event as well. Businesses in attendance represented the industries of security operations center (SOC) services, utilities (electricity and water), banking, and large enterprises. This event provided an opportunity for U.S. industry to learn about the Ho Chi Minh City SOC project directly from its developer, HCMC Information Security Service Company (HISSC). The U.S. was also able to share their technology solutions and expertise with HISSC. The Ho Chi Minh City SOC project is valued at approximately $5 million and is one of four major smart cities projects under development by the Ho Chi Minh City government.
